BOOM!
With the release of the biggest project I have done close at hand i follow the unknown path of Festival preparation. Yesterday i entered SUNDANCE 2010. today i will be entering and SXSWLA Film Festival 2010. Each Fest requires a lengthy application, and background info on the film. I am getting crazy already by just going through the application process. In the meantime, i am finishing the actual short film. Yes, i know what you're thinking. "Is it "normal" to have a film entered into a festival, when it isn't even completed yet?" The answer is that I don't know? I don't know really how other directors, or filmmakers, or whatever it is I'm trying to be, get to where they are, I just know there is NO REAL FORMULA to it!
With that being said, I'm very confident in the 3 wise men (as i also like to call them) that will save the day. these wise men or "Mechanics" are Jared Brower who is my VFX Supervisor & Inferno Artist, Sean Wilson who is my CGI Artist (he makes digital blood!!) & lastly "the Magician" Matt Pittman my Composer/Sound Designer (thelightfantasticmusic.com) who makes EVERYTHING you hear! With these incredible talents behind me making the butcher the best it can be i am confident that i will make this the BEST PIECE i have yet to make!!
So for now, i am off to edit some more Anime for the kiddies, tonight i finish up on line on the butcher, and meet with Sean to see how the blood is looking!
